The stratification of the “plume” outflow over the underlying waters was responsible for the local confinement of the trophic supply in the surface layer; this distribution was reflected by the vertical profiles of LAP and AP, showing a decreasing trend with increasing depth, similarly to what observed during previous studies [ 14 , 16 ].
