The sentences
The effects of most of the ten factors on breast cancer incidence have already been shown to be highly significant for the entire Million Women Study cohort. 16–19 To describe the main effect of each of the 12 SNPs on the relative risk for breast cancer, logistic regression models were applied, calculating the per-allele relative risks for the high-risk versus the low-risk allele, adjusted by age at recruitment (50–52, 53–55, 56–58, 59–61, and ≥62 years) and by ten regions in the UK (corresponding to UK cancer registration regions).
