Despite the clinical advantage obtained by the earlier air leak cessation, a statistically significant reduction in the duration of the hospital stay was not found in patients receiving sealant application; although they showed a favorable trend towards shorter hospitalization, (air leakage is not the only major reason for postoperative hospitalization).
