Case subjects had a greater comorbidity and a nonsignificant trend toward less exposure to metformin in the previous 10 years, whereas the mean daily metformin dose (median [interquartile range]) was not significantly different between case and control subjects (16.0 mg/kg/day [11.8–21.4] vs. 18.2 mg/kg/day [10.0–20.9], P = 0.63).
