Two patients with non-insulin-dependent diabetes (6%) developed hypertriglyceridaemia and there was also a definite trend towards moderately raised TGs in the diabetic group; 14 (47%) were shown to have TG levels above the upper limit of the normal range (>2.1 mmol l −1 ).
