Reduction in serum T4 values in patients on lithium has also been reported by Emerson et al (1973) and Hullin et al (1975). When serum T3, T4 and TSH levels were compared between patients in the study and control group, there was a decreasing trend in T3 and T4 towards the lower side of the normal range in patients of study group, although the difference was not statistically significant.
