There were no differences in QoL between the two groups and a highly significant benefit in terms of PFS (5.7 vs 2.7 months; HR 0.71) and a trend towards better survival (12.3 vs 9.7 months; P = 0.08) was observed for the randomly assigned patients in the immediate docetaxel arm as an “early second line”.
