Although it is far from a comprehensive understanding in terms of the detailed biochemical processes, pathways, and chemical mechanisms of DHPAA synthase-mediated flexible insect cuticle formation, data present in this communication are highly significant in that they provide practical insights into designing experiments that will lead to a comprehensive understanding of the DHPAA synthase in insect cuticle formation.
