In contrast, other CNS synapses show highly significant decreases in PPF following forskolin treatment, including cerebellar parallel fiber-to Purkinje cell synapses (Chen and Regehr, 1997 ) and hippocampal mossy fiber-to CA3 pyramidal cell synapses (Weisskopf et al., 1994 ), both of which therefore appear to respond to increases in cAMP by increasing synaptic release probability.
