The investigators described a highly significant correlation between the frontal pole in the Lu et al. study and each of the four regions of the cerebral cortex in the Khaitovich et al. study (anterior cingulate cortex, Broca’s area, prefrontal cortex, and primary visual cortex, r>0.8 and p<0.02), but a lack of correlation between the frontal pole and the two non-cerebral-cortical regions (caudate nucleus and cerebellum, r<0.1 and p>0.4) in the Khaitovich et al. study.
