Partial least squares regression of lipidomic data related to FCS showed that the changes in the top-ranking lipids associate with the increase of adipocyte cell size in obesity ( Figure S3 ). In line with this, triacylglycerols were also elevated in the adipose tissue of obese twins at the marginal significance level false discovery rate (FDR) q <0.1 ( Figure S4 ).
