Given that the expression of TLRs is not limited to innate immune cells, but is extended in different T cell subsets, including conventional αβ T cells, regulatory T cells, and γδ T cells as well as natural killer T cells, we can speculate that TLRs may be significant for induction of effector and regulatory function of T cells [ 42 ].
