Studies with blood from P2X1 −/− mice show little role for this receptor at a shear rate of 800 s −1 , but that it amplifies thrombus formation on the collagen surface as the shear is increased, becoming highly significant at levels experienced in small arteries and arterioles (6,000 s −1 ) [ 71 ].
