We thus found a highly significant induction of p53 and c-Jun (both total protein and phosphorylated forms), a trend to reduced total ERK1/2 protein levels, although phospho-ERK1/2 variants were increased at later time points ( Figure 6 D–F), and, always compared to the EGFP control, no major effect of SB100X on Akt, a marker of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress ( 30 ) ( Supplementary Figure S8 ).
