We found a marginally significant correlation between the development of hyperkalemia and basal potassium level, and similar findings have been reported by Gonzalez-Martin et al .[ 3 ] As baseline potassium level reflects pretreatment aldosterone level, its value has a predictive role for susceptibility to develop hyperkalemia.
