We believe that it is highly significant that PF10104 is not found in microbes that do not need a fenestra to form within the envelope, either because their anastral spindles are organized by an intranuclear MTOC as in Trypanosoma brucei or no MTOC at all, as in Tetrahymena ( Fujiu and Numata, 1999 ; Ogbadoyi et al., 2000 ).
