Comparison of δ 13 C and δ 15 N values between control specimens in the 800–1000 mm and >1000 mm groups revealed highly significant differences in both carbon and nitrogen isotopic values for Arctic Norway (δ 13 C: t = −5.36, df = 31, p <0.001; δ 15 N: t = −3.00, df = 31, p = 0.005), and a significant increase in δ 13 C with size class for the southern North Sea (t = −2.52, df = 57, p = 0.015).
