A highly significant correlation between trypsin specific activity and growth rate (although at a low correlation coefficient value) indicates that an increase in trypsin expression in the digestion process is a mediator that could stimulate growth mechanisms in animals ( Rungruangsak Torrissen and Male 2000 ; Figure 1 ).
