Predictors of increase in bone turnover markers At univariate analysis we found significant associations of greater OPG Δ [wk 48-bl] with higher CD4+/CD8+ T-cell ratio (r 2 = 0.06, p = 0.03), and with greater eGFR estimated by CKD-EPI based on cystatin C values at baseline (r 2 = 0.06, p = 0.03), but only the latter maintained a borderline significance at multivariable model (Table 2 ), indicating that there was a greater increase in OPG (mean: 0.21 ng/mL) in patients with better renal function at baseline.
