The seroprevalence rates in dogs increased linearly as the sampling area approached the sites of human cases, as confirmed by the highly significant Cochran-Armitage test for trends in proportions (p < 0.0001), which used a score of 1 for France, 2 for major towns, 3 for Mekambo, 4 for villages from the disease-epidemic area without human cases, and 5 for villages from the Ebola virus–epidemic area with human cases ( Figure 2B ).
