There was also a highly significant trend that the annual variability in length at spawning (estimated as the coefficient of variation and as standard deviation) has decreased with time ( C V spawning length = −0.17 ± 0.04% per year, t 36 = −3.71, P = 0.0007; std spawning length = −1.16 ± 0.04 mm year −1 , t 36 = −5.38, P < 0.0001, Fig. 6 ).
