What was found was a highly significant interaction effect between groups and the familiarity of the material, indicating a much stronger tendency among the Korsakoff patients than the controls to say “Yes” to familiar as opposed to unfamiliar pictures, i.e. which day they had been seen on, giving a high rate of false positives.
