Among caregiver characteristics, highly significant and consistent associations were observed between poorer caregiver health, as measured by the SF-8, and three of the four measures of child health (OR, 1.68, p<0.001 for fair/poor health; OR 1.40, p<0.01 for illness in past 6 months; OR, 1.56, p<0.001 for persistent fair/poor health).
