Density in layer II-III (control = 30,400 ± 800 and deprived = 29,800 ± 1100 cells by mm 3 ) and V (control = 38,700 ± 1200 and deprived = 37,100 ± 1300 cells by mm 3 ) was not significantly affected, and a small increase in layer VI failed to reach significance (control = 29,800 ± 1200 and deprived = 32,600 ± 1500 cells by mm 3 ).
