Most recently, Lavretsky and colleagues [ 45 ] conducted a pilot randomized controlled trial to examine the effect of 8 weeks of brief daily yogic meditation on immune cell telomerase activity in family dementia caregivers with mild depressive symptoms, and the results indicated a marginally significant difference ( p = 0.05) in the change of telomerase activity between the meditation group ( n = 23) and the relaxation control group ( n = 16), probably due to small size in the study.
