In vitro assays with leaf/protein extracts from transplastomic plants showed a highly significant inhibition of growth of bacterial pathogen Pseudomonas syringae pv. tabaci and pre-germinated spores of three fungal species, Aspergillus flavus , Fusarium moniliforme , and Verticillium dahliae .
