In the above mentioned study by Agholme, where the alendronate concentration was higher, there was a weak trend for the bone ingrowth to be reduced in the overdose group, and although the difference was non-significant this could simply represent a power problem related to the fact that the animals were harvested at four weeks compared to six weeks in our study.
