We searched for differentially methylated regions (DMR) where 100 adjacent CpG sites on the BeadChip are regulated accordingly—only two genomic regions revealed such a highly significant enrichment of SA-DNAm changes ( P < 10 −5 ): the HOXB locus on chromosome 17 (SA-hypermethylated) and the keratin associated protein (KRTAP) locus on chromosome 21 (SA-hypomethylated; Supplemental Fig. 3).
