The data presented in this study demonstrate a clear picture of the gut bacterial communities in cholera and its recovery process, showing a decreasing trend of the bacteria belonging to the family Bacteroidaceae, Prevotellaceae, Bifidobacteriaceae, Clostridiaceae, Faecalibacteriaceae, Megamonas, Megasphaera etc., in children suffering from cholera.
