Glucose-fructose concentrations were generally lowest between ∼08:00 and noon in most species; however, there were no significant diurnal changes in glucose-fructose concentrations in at least one time period for all the species, and several of the patterns were marginally significant (e.g., melt out and peak values for Betula , peak values for Eriophorum , and fall values for Vaccinium ).
