Recently, there has been an increasing trend in inducing the PVR model in the eyes of mice and rabbits using dispase. 22 – 26 , 28 , 34 Dispase, a neutral protease isolated from Bacillus polymyxa , is able to harvest and culture cells due to its ability to cleave the basal membrane in various tissues, and can be used as an intravitreal injection material to induce PVR.
