39 While efficacy was comparable between the three groups, patients over 70 showed a nonsignificant trend toward greater toxicity, compared to the other groups; they were also less likely to receive the same initial dose, and were less likely to receive two or more cycles of chemotherapy. 39 For patients who are candidates for adjuvant therapy but are considered too high risk for platinum-based therapy, single-agent therapy may be a reasonable alternative, and is currently under investigation.
