During the growth phase, the proportion of TUNEL-positive glial cells still remains somewhat elevated (1.64% and 1.71%, corresponding to 9.6 and 10.7 fold in the ectoneural and hyponeural cords, respectively), although marginally insignificant (with p-values of 0.069 and 0.053, in the ectoneural and hyponeural parts of the RNC, respectively) compared to the normal nervous tissue.
