Analysis of PGP9.5 immunofluorescence within the skin sections showed that, while in wild-type mice there a highly significant increase in PGP9.5 immunoreactivity 7 days following neonatal skin wounding ( Fig. 5 ; P < 0.001), wounding of NT-3 lacZneo /+ skin resulted in innervation density that was not statistically different from age-matched naive animals ( Fig. 5 graph).
