It has been suggested that any association between asthma and dental caries may occur primarily in younger children with no such evidence as child matures.[ 6 ] Highly significant caries indices scores seen in asthmatics between the age of 26–35 years in the present study could be best understood due to certain factors including diet, lack of access to preventive, and therapeutic dental services, lack of awareness, poor oral hygiene practices, and longer duration of asthma disease and its medication.
