Results Our results show a highly significant effect of both midpoint latitude and mass specific metabolic rate on the extent of phylogroup genetic divergence whereby phylogroup sequence divergence decreases with midpoint latitude and increases with mass specific metabolic rate ( Table 1 , Figure 1 ).
