While tissue specimens obtained from normal mucosa ( Figure 4Bi ), hyperplastic polyps ( Figure 4Bii ) and tubular adenomas with low-grade IEN ( Figure 4Biii ) exhibited low DPEP1 staining intensities, a highly significant upregulation of DPEP1 protein expression was observed during the transition to high-grade IEN ( Figure 4Biv ) and carcinomas ( Figure 4Bv and vi ).
