In another study of type 1 diabetic patients, regression of microalbuminuria was associated with a highly significant reduction in urine NAG excretion. 37 ROC analysis showed that urinary NAG was as sensitive as serum Cystatin for the prediction of microalbuminuria (83.3%), but had much higher specificity (77.8% versus 61.1%, respectively).
