These preclinical data in a mouse model with preexisting fibroid lesions demonstrated that EGCG at a dose of 1.25 mg/kg/day added to drinking water was able to induce a highly significant (up to 80%) shrinkage of fibroid lesions compared to untreated controls. 11 , 18 The treatment was well tolerated, with no detected side effects.
