One study found a marginally significant association for anti-LSA1 antibodies [ 33 ], however this is likely due to correlation with other immune responses as LSA-1 epitopes are only expressed after hepatocyte invasion, at which stage immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies cease to be effective [ 34 ].
