Using a cutoff of > = 75 th percentile of that of the controls there was a significantly increased odds for the mania group at time of hospital admission (OR = 2.79, 95% CI 1.33, 5.23, p = .005) and at time of evaluation during the hospital stay (OR 3.65, 95% CI 1.96, 6.79, p<.001) and also a marginally significant increased odds at time of the six month follow-up (OR 2.11, 95% CI 1.01, 4.40, p = .046).
