After adjusting for cardiovascular risk factors, the association between serum γ-tocopherol and ischemic stroke death was of borderline significance in men: the multivariate ORs (95% CI) for the highest versus the lowest quintile and for a 1-SD increment in γ-tocopherol level were 0.48 (0.22–1.06; P for trend = 0.07) and 0.77 (0.58–1.02), respectively.
