Using a cut-off of ≥6% HbA1c (12 diabetic mothers in the first, ten in the second and nine in third trimester, respectively), we found a higher percentage of δ brushes in the group with maternal HbA1c≥6% in the first and second trimester of pregnancy (14% vs 4% in both cases), which was highly significant (p=0.005 and p=0.007, respectively) ( figure 3 ), but not in the third trimester.
