The reduction in large-diameter myelinated fiber densities, both in the sciatic (3,636.49 ± 275.01/mm 2 vs 6,990.54 ± 333.39/mm 2 in control; p < 0.0001) and the tibial nerves (2,859.77 ± 331.93/mm 2 vs 8,602.83 ± 243.19/mm 2 in control; p < 0.0001), was highly significant.
