For 13 patients, who had permanent GES following temporary GES, there was highly significant correlation between temporary and permanent stimulation.[ 10 ] The same group recently reported a double-blinded randomized controlled trial of temporary endoscopic mucosal GES, with an aim to demonstrate at least 50% reduction in base-line symptoms.[ 11 ] Fifty eight patients were randomized in a cross-over design to a session of temporary GES for one group, followed by the second group.
