Several authors have used this interpretation [ 34 - 36 ], understanding that some flexibility is desirable in interpreting p values, and that calling any value with p > 0.05 “not significant” is not recommended, as it may obscure results that are not quite statistically significant but do suggest a real effect [ 37 , 38 ].
