Our results show that (i) without adjusting the initial pH, the effects of the Ag + concentration, the adsorbent type (BMO or CMO) and the interaction of these two factors all have a highly significant effect (***) on the adsorption efficiency ( Table 1 and Figure 1 A ); (ii) at an Ag + concentration of 0.5 mmol/L, the initial pH, the adsorbent type and the interaction of these two factors also has a highly significant effect (***) on the adsorption efficiency ( Table 1 and Figure 1 C ); and (iii) at an Ag + concentration of 20 mmol/L, the difference in adsorbent performance is highly significant (***), the influence of the initial pH is significant (*) and the interaction between the adsorbent type and the initial pH is not significant ( Table 1 and Figure 1D ).
