Large and highly significant differences were found between both NILs and Tsu-1 (Table 1 ), providing strong evidence for the presence of the QTL and providing a surprisingly high estimate of the relative difference in g 0 conferred by the two alleles when compared to the results of the initial QTL experiment [see Additional file 5 ].
