Using univariate logistic regression analyses the following variables were associated with BK viral replication (Table 3 ): ESP recipient status, recipient age, prior biopsy proven acute rejections (BPAR), lack of participation in prospective clinical transplant trials, mode of renal replacement therapy prior to transplantation, previous transplantation, donor (IgG -) as well as recipient (IgG +) CMV-serostatus, LDL-cholesterol, and - with borderline significance - 25-hydroxy vitamin D level.
