Among at least 16 different GWASs on drug response since the first was published in late 2007, less than half have shown genome-wide significance, although some potentially interesting associations that come close to significance have been detected in several of the studies in this category. 15 Altogether, these reports suggest that conventionally corrected P -values for the combined samples are not the only criteria to find true associations between SNPs and the phenotypes examined.
